Welcome

I will simply open my arms and let the stars claim me~anonymous

The transition from a Home & Garden business to a B&B was really quite smoother than I expected. It all fell into place seamlessly. The plan was to re open our Home & Garden shop. Now that my daughter would be starting school I would have more to time to devote to something else. But time seems to be a luxury we never have enough of. I thought-- now I  can get back to my art and my Life before babies and bottles. But like the infamous college mantra "I will go back next semester" it never seemed to be the right time. I missed the interaction with our regular customers, vendors and meeting new people who came into the shop.  All of our merchandise sat in storage, like Cinderella hoping to go to the Ball. I wanted to bring it all home. Stuff the walls with all our little treasures. Our studio was a catchall for all things I loved and could not fit into our little Crayola box.

I was inspired when I was looking through vacation photos. A wedding in New Mexico. That fabulous B&B that I can't remember the name of but fell in love with. It was tucked away in a little pocket of land. An escape. So different from where we came from but instantly felt like home. Not the lacy,  fussy grandma's attic that comes to mind when you think of B&Bs. Though they have their own charm and romance. That weekend I did not want to share my meals with strangers and small talk. There would be enough of that at the wedding! I wanted to soak up the solitude and stillness of those warm nights and bathe in the stars.

While we can't offer those same breath taking views we do strive to be unique and fresh. I love to share my garden, vintage finds and open my home to those  adventurous kindred spirits. I find people who seek out B&Bs to be well traveled and open to new experiences. I am dedicating this Blog to you. Past and future guests. Thank you for sharing your journey and ending up on our doorstep.  My mission is to promote small business,  upcoming local events art/poetry and my favorite things. I want to serve as a guide to those of you that are looking to stray from the path and experience San Diego's hidden gems.
